Final Degree Project (Navarra, Spain)
Professor Mariano Pemán
June 2015
It is not a “boutique hotel” although it has plenty of charm. Neither it is a country bed and breakfast, even though it is situated in the middle of a natural paradise. It is perharps a luxury hotel, yes, but it is not luxury as we know it. Really it is a very singular hotel located in one of the most beautiful and undiscovered regions of Spain: the medieval village of Ujue; whose fascinating history involves the designed building, where light is a vital element and together with the whole natural stone composition creates a perfect place to relax.

The project proposes a public space surrounding the ruins on two different levels; two pieces identi able as classic temples of the modern architecture are designed in respone to current social and cultural requirements.

It is a project of urban regeneration developed in the city of Vitoria, divided by the railway tracks of a disused train. This proposal aims to recover the land of the old railway line which is a “real urban barrier” by transforming it into a linear park, where different paths are mixed for pedestrians, bicycles and athletes, allowing a rich relationship between all users; the connection between both parts of the city is achieved by placing articulation points as “green kneecaps” where different activities can be developed.
